Jessica Simpson to land Bollywood!

Hollywood diva Jessica Simpson has confirmed on Twitter her impending visit to India.

On Twitter Simpson wrote: "@kenpaves and I are going to India!!!!"

Ken Paves is a celebrity hairstylist out of Beverly Hills (USA). She will reportedly shoot in India starting next week for her VH1 docu-series show The Price of Beauty.

In this show, Simpson will reportedly get some beauty pointers from Bollywood actress-model Neha Dhupia [ Images ], 29, who was quoted as saying: 'I know for sure that Jessica will be draped in a sari.'

Simpson reportedly may also study the local dietary fads, beauty regimes and fashions and even take part in some of the extreme practices she finds out.

Simpson will be throwing a grand Bollywood party after completing this shooting, reports indicate.

Mumbai: The stunt man of Bollywood Akshay Kumar who is now a super star of the tinsel world has worked with around all the big and small directors of Indian Cinema and now he is bending towards the west countries to try his hands.


According to the sources, the Hollywood director David Ellis, who has directed thrillers like "The Final Destination", is really keen to work with the actor after having a close attention on his work in his latest flick 'Blue'.


Recently, David came to see all the skill and work of the stunt man when the director Anthony D'Souza of the flick ‘Blue' was busy in doing the final mixing of the footage at Los Angeles.


David loved the magnificent work by the actor and the director of 'Blue' quoted, "David was highly impressed when he saw some portions of Blue. He was of the opinion that such stunts could not be possible in movies outside Hollywood. He simply loved Akshay's work and truly believes that Akshay has huge potential to make it big in the West."


According to some other sources, the western director David has already portrayed the storyline of his film in which Akshay Kumar alias Akki will play in the lead role. The film will be a served to both Indian and international audiences on the silver screen.

Hooligans harass Kangana Ranaut

Lucknow, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who is here to shoot for a film, was harassed by a group of hooligans in the Kaiserbagh locality of the city.

Kangana is here with co-stars R. Madhavan and Jimi Shergil for the past 10 days to shoot for Anand L. Rai’s “Tanu weds Manu”.

The incident took place Sunday at the Lal Baradari building where the cast and crew were shooting a sequence for the film around 10 p.m. It was a holiday, so a huge crowd, over 2,000, gathered around the location.

“It was horrible. A group of youngsters came very close to Kangana, Madhavan and Jimi and started passing lewd comments about her. Some of them also tried to touch Kangana,” a crew member told IANS.

However, the police denied the allegations.

“Keeping in view the huge gathering, we had deployed entire force of about four police stations at the Lal Baradari. The director, however, complained that due to the crowd they were having problems in shooting as people were coming into the frames,” inspector K.M. Singh of Kaiserbagh police station told IANS.

No police complaint has been lodged.

“We will surely register an FIR if anyone from the crew approaches us with a formal complaint,” Singh said.

Rai, who had earlier directed the thriller “Strangers” starring Jimi and Kay Kay Menon, is scheduled to film “Tanu weds Manu” in Kanpur, Faridkot, Patiala and New Delhi in the coming days.

Asin not happy with media channels

The one year old baby of B-town seems to be more despaired with continuous rumors being cooked about her. Earlier it was about her pettifoggeries with Salman Khan and now about refusing Farah Khan’s offer of ‘Happy New Year’. The South Indian actress Asin shot to fame with her overnight success of ‘Ghajini’ in 2008. But, the fille has been drenched in absolute sadness with media channels incessantly penning gossips about her. Dashed down in her spirits, Asin says, “I am really sickened with such stupid stories stirring up troubles. Salman Khan has been a great actor and fantastic person to work with. Both Sallu and my dad have been enjoying their time while filming on the sets of ‘London Dreams’. Interestingly, he had painted my dad’s portrayal and gifted him as a token of expressing his friendship.” When asked about her Farhan-Happy New Year issue, she continued adding that she never approached her on this project. Says Asin: “Me and Farah are close friends and have spent more quality time to together. But she hasn’t approached me to star opposite SRK in Happy New Year. To be precise, she hasn’t yet completed her script works…” Asin's next project is Ashutosh Gowariker's ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey’ with Abhishek Bachchan which will take off shortly before December.

'Pazhassi Raja' gets bumper opening, Mammootty on cloud nine

"Pazhassi Raja", said to be the costliest Malayalam film to date, received an overwhelming response at the box office when released Friday. Superstar Mammootty, who plays the lead in it, is on cloud nine and says this is the "movie of the century".

Mammootty on cloud nine and basking in glory told IANS over telephone that this is the cinema of the century.

"My mobile hasn't stopped ringing since morning and each and every caller is as excited as I am. Believe me, this is what inspires me to work harder," Mammootty, who is shooting for his next film "Chattambinadu" at Palani, told IANS.

The film has been made at a budget of over Rs.25 crore (Rs.250 million) and has been dubbed in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil.

Mammootty said it was worth waiting for the movie.

"I am of course happy and what made me happier is the fact that people said they felt a sense of patriotism after seeing the film. That is why I feel that this is the cinema of the century," added the superstar who has had an excellent 2009 year with all his films becoming box office hits.

Expectations were high from "Pazhassi Raja" because Mammootty, eminent writer M.T. Vasudevan Nair and director Hariharan came together after two decades. Other high points of the film are Illayaraja's music and the sound effects by Oscar winner Resul Pookutty.

The film is set in the 18th century and is about Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja of the Kottayam royal family. Irked by the revenue policy of East India Company in Malabar, Pazhassi Raja's was one of the first voices to be raised against British rule in India, though not many people are aware of him outside Kerala.

The film's climax has been changed.

"They have changed a bit because originally Pazhassi Raja commits suicide and in the film he is seen falling to the bullet of the British. Overall it has come out well and a must see," said Aravind Sasi, film critic who saw the first show.

After Blue, its Blue 2

The seats are still warm from last week’s release Blue but a sequel to the big budget film is already in the works. Tentatively titled Blue 2, get ready for a bigger, better and definitely more expensive production, which will go even further with it’s thrilling special effects. Blue actor Sanjay Dutt told a tabloid that they will be starting with the sequel immediately. "It was a thrilling experience shooting for Blue in the Bahamas. Tony (director) is ready with the idea for Blue 2 and he has promised that there will be more sharks and action in the sequel," says Sanjay. The actor went on to tell of the trials and tribulations over the shooting of the original. "For me, Blue was an extremely difficult film to shoot. The same goes for the director Anthony D'Souza. Hats off to the producer who believed in the film and invested so much money in it. I don't know about others but I had a tough time while shooting as I was scared when I saw 50 sharks around me." Blue 2 is rumoured to begin shooting in Australia and will reportedly star one more key male actor other than Akshay Kumar, Sanjay and Zayed Khan. Mumbai: Although Shahid and Priyanka’s clandestine affair may be doing rounds in Bollywood, grapevine has it that Piggy Chops’ relationship with Hurman Baweja is still a million dollar question!

Buzz has it that Priyanka sizzled with none other than Hurman this Diwali. According to reports, Priyanka celebrated the festival of lights with ex-flame Hurman Baweja, rather than her current beau Shahid Kapur. Incidentally, Priyanka and Hurman were spotted together almost after a year at the latter’s Diwali bash on Thursday night.

Talking to a news daily, a source said, “Harry and Pammi Baweja have their annual Diwali celebration, which goes on till the wee hours of the morning. It also has some B-town celebs attending the party. This year it was a shock to see Priyanka at the party. After her break-up with Harman, she had completely disappeared from Hurman’s life. She even cut-off ties with his parents by not visiting his house. However, she was in touch with Hurman’s sister Rowena, on and off.”

However, it was Harman’s parents who invited Piggy Chops at event. “Although the invitation was given by Harman, it was his parents’ call which got Priyanka to his house. The actress walked in post-midnight and stayed at the party for a few hours”, adds the source.

It is believed that Priyanka and Hurman renewed their links during the promotion of ‘What’s Your Raashee?’. “Priyanka was like a family member when she was dating Hurman. Main aur Mrs Khanna: Movie Review

Main aur Mrs Khanna... aksar yeh baatein karte hai... ke agar Mr Khanna hote to aisa hota... Mr Khanna hote to vaisa hota
That precisely sums up the story of this film in short.

Samir Khanna (Salman Khan) has lost riches and respect in Melbourne city after being accountable for a big beating in the business world. Without a job, his ego is hurt when wife Raina (Kareena Kapoor) becomes the sole breadwinner of the family. He decides to shift to Singapore and strangely doesn't want to take along his beloved wife.

Samir asks Raina to migrate to India but she stays back in Melbourne and finds a job at the airport terminal. There she befriends Akash (Sohail Khan) and together they only end up talking about Mr Khanna.

Raina who has been working for months in Melbourne is suddenly questioned on her job permit. Does the film intend to say that women with their husbands away aren't allowed to work in Australia? Such inanity is only induced so that Raina and Akash are forced to pose as couple to save her job.

Predictably Akash falls for Raina and by the time he decides to propose, Mr Khanna is back. Expectedly a love triangle is set with Akash trying to win Raina by outshining Samir and the one-upmanship reminds of Salman-Akshay's Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. Of course you know who wins the girl and the loser is given a consolation prize through the decade-old done-to-death starlet special appearance in the last scene.

The film desperately struggles between being a comedy and a sensitive emotional drama but miserably fails on scoring in either genre. The character conflicts seem too insignificant which make you indifferent towards the resulting drama. The narrative lacks depth and ends up being a conventional love story. Prem R Soni tries too hard to add a shade of sensitivity in his direction but loses the grip as his writing is too fragile. The pacing is slow but thankfully the length is short.

Sudeep Chatterjee's cinematography fails to capture the beauty of Australia as the setting just doesn't move beyond the Melbourne airport. Sajid-Wajid's music is easy on the ears. Of the redeeming moments is the one when Sohail invites Kareena for an impromptu jig on the yesteryear soft number Bade Achche Lagte Hai.

Of the cast, Salman Khan looks dull and disinterested and his biting-words dialogue-delivery disappoints even more. Kareena Kapoor is regular and should clearly avoid doing drunken scenes where she overacts outrageously. Sohail Khan attempts hard to infuse life in this dead-drama with his buffoonery but fails to impress.

Preity Zinta's item number evidently modeled on the lines of Kajra Re is certainly not happening. She looks too old to play a seductress. Yash Tonk makes up for a cheaper version of Rajpal Yadav. And for god's sake, is Bappi Lahiri following Himesh Reshammiya to be a fulltime actor? Every time he speaks a frog croaks in the background score. Meanwhile what were Dino Morea, Nauheed Cyrusi and Mahek Chahel doing in the film?

You can conveniently say alvida to Main Aurr Mrs Khanna.

Aamir worried about audience reaction to “Three Idiots”

New Delhi, Bollywood star Aamir Khan has finished shooting for Rajkumar Hirani’s much awaited “3 Idiots”, based on Chetan Bhagat’s bestseller “Five Point Someone”, and confesses that now he is worried about the audiences’ reaction.

“The last one week has been very busy with ‘3 Idiots’ work. The final song is done and now the cut is locked too. I think we have managed to make the film that we set out to. In the coming weeks I will tell you more about the film and what is happening,” Aamir posted on his blog aamirkhan.com/blog.

“As you can well imagine the good old butterflies have begun to spread their wings once again and their feathery touch has started to tickle my insides. I’m tempted to try and snuff them out with smoke…but I won’t. I think this time I have quit for good,” he said.

Salman Khan gifts Kareena Kapoor a bag worth Rs.250,000

Bollywood star Salman Khan went out of his way and gifted a branded bag worth Rs.250,000 to his Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna co-star Kareena Kapoor. Kareena and Salman went shopping together in Australia while they were shooting for the film and the young actress fell for a Dolce and Gabbana handbag. "Kareena would usually land up shopping in the evenings after the shoot in Australia. She would go alone. But on one occasion, Salman accompanied her too," said a unit source. "She instantly liked a Dolce and Gabbana bag, stepped in and bought it. When she was about to pay the storekeeper refused to take the money saying it had already been paid for. Kareena stood zapped and wondered who could be that generous soul. It was only later that she got to know that it was Salman who had paid," the source added. The two actors plays main leads in Prem Soni's directorial debut Main Aurr Mrs.Khanna. Sohail Khan, who has co-produced the movie with UTV SpotBoy Pictures, is also starring in it. The film is scheduled for release October 16.
