Deepika Targets Salman Khan

Deepika is keen to team up with Salman Khan despite sharing bad vibes with his girlfriend

Mumbai: Deepika Padukone might have kick-started her Bollywood career with Shah Rukh Khan and since then is known to be part of his inner circle, but she claims she is more than open to branch out and work with King Khan's arch enemy Salman Khan.

"I'm so new in the industry and I have been very lucky to have got the opportunity to work with the biggest names in the industry. I have worked with SRK, Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan and now I would like to work with Salman," says Deepika, who is currently basking in the success of Love Aaj Kal.

She adds, "I feel Salman is a very honest person. He is genuine about what he feels and what I have read and known about him, he seems to be very caring."

Deepika admires AamirKhan too. "He has been extremely selective and it has worked so amazingly for him. I don't know whether he does it purposely or things turn out to be like that but he is a perfectionist."

Deepika might be game to talk about Sallu but she is not cool when it comes to talking about his girlfriend Katrina Kaif with whom she's been apparently sharing bad vibes. It's been reported that Deepika didn't approve of beau Ranbir Kapoor and Kat's growing bond on the sets of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and that she is responsible for the duo being no longer on talking terms.

"I wouldn't want to comment on Katrina," was her short and snappy reply when quizzed. But was her relationship shaky when rumours about Kat were on the rise? "Ranbir and I trust each other and we are going well. I realise that when there is no movie releasing people focus on other things and that people will even talk about personal things. All this used to affect me a lot before, it doesn't anymore."

Post their box-office bomb Chandni Chowk to China, ironically Deepika is now teaming up with Akshay Kumar for a comedy called Housefull. "I love the passion and drive that Akshay has. With him around, you get to learn a lot on the sets. I know our first film together didn't work out but there's nothing called an unlucky jodi," she says.

Aamir Khan's Victory over Deepika Padukone

On Sunday evening, Deepika Padukone and dad Pakash Padukone played a doubles badminton match against Aamir Khan and Aparna Popat, at the annual tournament for the Padukone Academy run by the one-time badminton champion.
Even though the actress lost the match against Aamir, Deepika believes it's the sportsmanship that won at the end of the day. In her words, "I know that Aamir plays badminton at the Khar gym. He's extremely fit and a great player. It was an incredible experience to play opposite him."

Deepika who's extremely passionate about badminton adds that she always enjoys pairing with dad on the court, "Even after so many years dad is such a driving force and an inspiration for badminton enthusiasts.

I remember in the older days when he would train in Bangalore there were no high roof courts, so he would play in shaadi mandaps. From that day to having his own badminton academy he's come a long way."

The actress grabs every opportunity to promote any kind of sport activity. "I have always been a champion of fitness and well being. I think badminton is a great sport for anyone who wants to increase his stamina and fitness level."

Unabashed kissing scenes and shows ,but ‘Love Aaj Kal’ a family film: Director

Mumbai, Imtiaz Ali openly admits that his upcoming “Love Aaj Kal”, which stars Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone, has unabashed kissing scenes and shows the lead actors mouthing expletives, but the director insists that it will still be a complete family entertainer.

The director says he has included the so-called objectionable scenes in the movie’s promos so that people are already used to it by the time they see the film.

“See, it’s the way you put it in the film and treat it. It’s up to the filmmaker not to make his film some fodder for perversion or lechery.” Ali told IANS.

Ali promises that “Love Aaj Kal”, which is Saif’s production debut, is a film that would be accepted by an entire family.

“Kisses included,” he winks. “Nobody will feel inhibited watching ‘Love Aaj Kal’. No one will hesitate walking into the film with his family. All that is potentially objectionable in the film in the strictest of sense has been taken care of in the first promo. If you have warmed up on it, rest assured you will love ‘Love Aaj Kal’,” the filmmaker said.

“Love Aaj Kal” is his third love story after “Socha Na Tha” and the blockbuster “Jab We Met”.

But there were people around Ali who weren’t too comfortable with the idea of showing Saif trying to hold Deepika’s butt, then share an unabashed kiss with her in the car and also mouth Hinglish expletives on a date right in the promo itself.

“They thought that people may get an impression that the film was only about these things but I had my own viewpoint,” explains Ali.

“My argument is that audiences are really smart. They pretty much see the intention of the filmmaker and make up their mind to watch the film accordingly. We better start taking them seriously rather than attempt at fooling them by considering ourselves over smart,” he says.

To substantiate his claim, Ali goes on to share an anecdote from his experience during the making of “Jab We Met”, which starred Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor.

“Remember the sequence in the second half of the film when Kareena curses her ex-boyfriend on phone? She goes on to say ‘Teri Maa Ki’ and a lot more. Did the audience feel awkward? Not at all. In fact they laughed during the entire scene and not a single soul came and told me that he/she felt offended by the language,” Ali reasons.

The director, however, admits that for “Love Aaj Kal”, the prime target audience is the younger crowd.

“And that’s more by accident rather than planned,” he says. “The film caters to them mainly because it’s this age group that goes and sees films in theatres. Due to this, even when I am conceptualising a film and then putting it on celluloid, I feel safe from my target audience perspective,” he explains.

With music by Pritam and lyrics by Irshad Kamil, “Love Aaj Kal” is set for a July 31 release.

Deepika Padukone was supposed to make her debut with a Priyadarshan film, but she chose Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om instead.

Now, three years later, the actress is all set for a cameo in the director’s much-talked about Billo Barber.

Priyan, however, credits Shah Rukh Khan for roping in Deepika for the project. “Yes, she was being considered for a film called Pirates – about music piracy. But the film didn’t work out. I’m glad Deepika made her debut with a film as successful as OSO, and that too with Shah Rukh,” said Priyan. Besides Deeepika, Kareena Kapoor also makes a guest appearance in the movie.

She joins the likes of previous Bollywood celebrity-winners like Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor.

Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor Engaged; To Tie Knot

Deepika & Ranbir
Putting an end to the hearsays of their breakup, Bollywood
beauty Deepika Padukone and her latest beau Ranbir Kapoor said they are engaged
and hope to tie knot once their careers stabilize.

In an interview, the young starlet Deepika made it official by saying that they both are happy with their relationship.

“Within the next five years I hope to be Mrs Kapoor and the leading lady of Bollywood.”

Talking about how it started it all, the 22-year-old actress revealed that she said ‘Yes’ when Ranbir proposed to her at the time of the release of their debut films ‘Om Shanti Om’ and ‘Saawariya’ in 2007.

She also said that they are happy in each other's company and that their parents too are happy with their relationship.
the actress stated that it was love at first sight for the couple and they struck a chord even before their first films were released.

“It was love at first sight. We met through mutual friends and we fell for each other right away but we needed time for our love to grow before we made a serious commitment,” she also said.

The hot and sizzling beauty also said that the rumors upset her a lot. But they’ve decided not to let such baseless speculation affect their love for each other.

Looks like Bollywood beauties have made big plans for the next five years as after Kareena, its now Deepika who is all up for marriage after five years.

But unlike Chotte Nawab who has made frank confessions regarding his wish to marry Bebo, Ranbir has chosen to stay quiet on the subject.
