The music launch ceremony of the film ‘Rock On’ was marked by some mind-blowing performances by the multi-talented musical trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and debut singer Farhan Akhtar, at an event held at the Mall in Mumbai on Monday.
Directed by Abhishek Kapoor and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Akhtar, the film ‘Rock On’ also marks the entry of Akhtar and Prachi Desai as actors and singers.
Starring Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli, Shahana Goswami and Luke Kenny, ‘Rock On’ is the first movie to release under the six film co-production contract between Excel Entertainment and Reliance Big Pictures.
Kicking off the evening, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy trio’s power-packed performance left everyone hollering and asking for more.
And soon the viewers got crazy when Farhan himself set the stage afire two foot-tapping numbers from the film, in his wonderful rock star look.
Farhan’s father Javed Akhtar, formally released the album at the live concert. The well-known lyricist has also written the songs for son’s movie.
‘Rock On’ is about four members of a band who reunite after going their separate ways. Rock star Farhan plays the lead singer and sings a whopping five out of nine songs in the film.
With the film all set to hit theatres this August, Farhan’s buffs don't have to wait long.

It would be a good movie along with songs. I must see this movie because Javed ji is an wonderful lyricist and his debutant son Farhan.
