Britney Spears and Adnan: Reunited
All of the hospitalization and legal drama in Britney Spears’ life as of late has most definitely put a strain on her relationship with boyfriend Adnan Ghalib.
But the two were nevertheless reunited yesterday afternoon, a few short hours after her release from the UCLA Medical Center.
A source told press that UCLA had to release the “Gimme More” singer, “because she was no longer required to stay there after 11:30 AM,” given the fact that she was no longer considered a threat to herself or others.
A few hours later, Brit met up with Adnan at the Beverly Hills Hotel, and they drove to the law offices of Adam Strisand, the lawyer who objected to Jamie Spears’ motion to become her co-conservator this past Monday.
Britney Spears' Parents 'Believe Her Life Is Presently At Risk'
Britney Spears' parents expressed shock that their daughter was released from a Los Angeles psychiatric hospital on Wednesday, against the recommendation of her treating psychiatrist.
The Associated Press reports that Spears' father, Jamie, who was named as his daughter's conservator on Monday, was also against the release, and in a joint statement released Wednesday with ex-wife Lynne Spears, the couple said they were "extremely disappointed" to learn that their 26-year-old daughter had been allowed out. Britney had been placed under a 14-day hold at the hospital, under which she could not be released unless she legally demanded it or her doctor deemed her ready for outpatient treatment.
"We are deeply concerned about our daughter's safety and vulnerability, and we believe her life is presently at risk," the statement read. "We ask only that the court's orders be enforced so that a tragedy may be averted."
Unlike the singer's January 31 trip to UCLA Medical Center, which was accompanied by a large caravan of police cars, motorcycles and helicopters, her departure was without fanfare or attention from the swarm of paparazzi that constantly surround her, the AP reported. She was spotted later in the day driving around Los Angeles in her new black Mercedes with an unidentified man.
She eventually wound up at one of her frequent haunts, the Beverly Hills Hotel, where photographers swarmed around her car, and several police officers were dispatched to "keep the peace," Los Angeles Police Department Sergeant Mark Miner told the news service. Keeping a handle on the aggressive pack of photographers constantly tailing the singer has become an unofficial part of the LAPD's job lately, with $25,000 alone spent on transporting Spears to the UCLA Medical Center last week, according to a report in The Los Angeles Times.
The past few days have been filled with revelations about the singer's tumultuous life, including allegations in the latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine that mother Lynne allowed the teenage Britney to get breast implants, which she regretted soon after because her chest continued to grow. She reportedly removed the implants later and kept the surgery a secret. The magazine also reports that when Spears was beginning her career in the 1990s, she was bribed by her label to work around the clock. Someone described as a "close friend" reportedly told the magazine, "If she didn't want to come out of the trailer, the label would come to me saying, 'Please talk to Britney, make sure she performs, and we'll take you on a shopping spree." A former driver added, "We would wake Britney up at 6 a.m., and she'd work on a video for three or four days straight for 20 hours a day."
The magazine also alleges the Spears began sleeping with choreographer Wade Robson around the time of the 2001 VMAs and that then-boyfriend Justin Timberlake didn't find out about it until he discovered a note from Robson in February 2002 on the night Timberlake and Spears were to perform on "Saturday Night Live" together.
