Salman's jungle Adventure film in 3D!

"First of all I am not playing Tarzan in the film and it has got nothing to do with the character at all. It is an adventure film based in a jungle," clarified Salman Khan about his next endeavour with his brother Sohail.

While he dismisses any link to the famous man of the jungle in Sher Khan, the brothers are reportedly toying with the idea of making the film in 3D.

Our source told us, "It is Sohail's idea to make it in 3D. However, Salman bhai is still in two minds about this. Shooting in 3D is very difficult and going by the standards of special effects expected these days, the Khan brothers want everything to be sorted before they take the final call.

However, Sohail is quite confident given his technical finesse. He is known to be very hands-on, as far as his films are concerned. Plus the film is a jungle adventure and so it will be fun watching the film, if it is in 3D."

When asked about his scepticism to make the film in 3D, Salman explained, "As far as 3D goes, I am not sure. We are definitely thinking about it. However, 3D films have not worked in India and I am not too sure about its market."

When contacted, Sohail said, "I am still working on the script and only after the script develops, we will decide if it has 3D scope or not."

Salman Khan and Katrina in ‘Ek Tha Tiger’

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif literally join hands and wrap arms for the upcoming Yash Raj Film Ek Tha Tiger.

The duo surely harbours no grouse against each other after the break-up last year and was completely at ease shooting for a special photoshoot for the film at Salman’s house. The images from the shoot are out and we present them to you.

Ek Tha Tiger is based on a story written by Aditya Chopra. This is Salman’s first film as a hero with the Yashraj banner.

Talking about the film, Salman says that he and Aditya have talked about various projects in the past, but nothing materialized.

“In the past Adi and I have met a few times on various projects but somehow, when Kabir and he came to me with this particular story, we all just knew that this was the one. It is a very ambitious project and will be a challenge for all of us, but that's exactly what makes it such a big draw. Above all this, I’m honoured to be working with Yashji, who has worked so closely with my Dad in the past,” Salman is quoted to have said.

The film’s shoot will begin in July. Its music will be by Pritam and cinematography will be by Aseem Mishra (DoP of Kabir Khan’s New York). The screenplay and dialogues have been penned by Kabir Khan along with Nilesh Misra.

Salman is Ready!

Fans are already in a tizzy from the promos and we still have a month to go to see the full on Salman Khan entertainer Ready. Directed by Anees Bazmee, the film also stars Asin in the remake of the superhit Telugu film of the same name. The film's story revolves around a helpful boy, a girl forced into a marriage, a kidnapping, and a love story, of course, with many songs and dances, some action too all done in true Salam Khan style.

Producer Bhushan Kumar said recently in an interview with PTI that they are definitely building on the popularity of Salman's hit from last year Dabangg! "It was always there in our mind that we had to make the best use of Dabangg behind us. Even Salman thought the same and wanted the promo to convey this clearly."

Salman Khan out, Sanjay Dutt in : Dus Ka Dum

Negotiations have fallen through with Salman. He is out of Dus Ka Dum.

Sanjay Dutt whom Salman has acknowledged as his mentor and guru in the past, will step into Salman's place. This would be Dutt's first tryst with television.

So far Dutt has shied away from television arguing that the medium would cramp his style. It was Dutt's good friends the Bachchans who convinced him to go for it.

The Big B whom Dutt considers his mentor and is a pioneer among celluloid stars on television, is at this very moment ready to sign on for another season of Kaun Banega Crorepati with Sony Entertainment even before the current season is half-done.

A source said, "Sanju was in two minds. One look at Amitji's track-record on the home-viewing medium convinced Sanju to go for it."

Negotiations between Salman Khan and the channel have fallen through due to "irreconcilable financial differences". The channel has quietly moved on.

They've zeroed in on what they think would make for an even more interesting host on Dus Ka Dum.

A very reliable and unquestionable source from the channel confirms that discussions with Sanjay Dutt have reached a final stage.

"We've also been in very serious discussions with Anil Kapoor. Neither Sanjay Dutt nor Anil has done television before. That's what places them above Salman Khan in our list of hosts," a source said.

Apparently Anil who played a Kaun Banega Crorepati-styled game-show host in Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire was the channel's first choice to host Dus Ka Dum after Salman.

However Anil would be busy shooting for Mission Impossible 4 at the time when Dus Ka Dum is slated to go on air. So Dutt it is.

Apparently the channel is willing to pay Sanjay Dutt a hefty amount of money to get him to do television. But no one is willing to disclose the sum being offered to Dutt.

A channel source said, "We're just happy to have him on board. At any cost."

Salman-John cold war end

The ice seems to have melted between Bollywood actors John Abraham and Salman Khan after four years of avoiding one another. The misunderstandings that had risen between the two muscle men in a stage show met its end at the sets of Desi Boyz.

During a shooting of the movie in Mehboob Studios, Salman dropped in to see Akshay Kumar and the other actors, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, Chitrangada Singh and Sanjay Dutt, who were also present. On spotting John he went up to him and hugged him. They were also seen to have lunch together.

So now there is one less foe in Salman Khan’s list. Let’s just hope that the other issues too can be resolved as amicably.

Salman bowled over by My Name Is Khan

Karan Johar and Shahrukh Khan’s ambitious film My Name is Khan is impressing the top notch actors of Bollywood who also happen to be professional as well as personal rivals. Yes, you guessed it right we are talking about SRK and Salman.

Recently, perfectionist Aamir had praised the concept of film after watching its promos and now its Salman who is all praises for the movie even before its release. Salman said, “Shahrukh’s character seems to be much matured from the promos and the subject of the film seems to be very interesting. The movie looks promising from its promos.” Considering the enmity between Salman and Shahrukh since last year, this review from Salman was quite a shocker.

But as they say good work should always be appreciated and after all only an artist knows the true value of another artist.

Aamir Khan-Salman Khan bond over bike rides

In an industry rife with cut-throat competition where simmering emotions boil up in a series of verbal potshots now and then, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan have surprisingly been bonding like thick buddies.

Who can forget Salman’s personal ode to Ghajini when he painted Aamir’s portraits (in the Ghajini look) ahead of the film’s release last year. Though the SRK-Salman cold war may have driven a wedge through the industry and its camp-loyal folks, Aamir’s friendship with Salman has remained unaffected.

The two stars make it a point to meet and spend some time together whenever their busy schedules permit. But we now learn that they also go out for rides on Salman’s mobike when the streets of Mumbai are almost deserted in the dead of the night.

According to reports, Aamir first drives to Salman’s Bandra residence where he parks his car. Later, the duo ride out on Salman’s bike while a small pose of security guards follows them.

After the ride, the duo often sits down for a chat over a couple of drinks either at Salman’s place or at Aamir’s.

Main aur Mrs Khanna: Movie Review

Director: Prem R Soni
Cast: Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Sohail Khan
Main aur Mrs Khanna

Rating: **

Main aur Mrs Khanna... aksar yeh baatein karte hai... ke agar Mr Khanna hote to aisa hota... Mr Khanna hote to vaisa hota
That precisely sums up the story of this film in short.

Samir Khanna (Salman Khan) has lost riches and respect in Melbourne city after being accountable for a big beating in the business world. Without a job, his ego is hurt when wife Raina (
Kareena Kapoor) becomes the sole breadwinner of the family. He decides to shift to Singapore and strangely doesn't want to take along his beloved wife.

Samir asks Raina to migrate to India but she stays back in Melbourne and finds a job at the airport terminal. There she befriends Akash (Sohail Khan) and together they only end up talking about Mr Khanna.

Raina who has been working for months in Melbourne is suddenly questioned on her job permit. Does the film intend to say that women with their husbands away aren't allowed to work in Australia? Such inanity is only induced so that Raina and Akash are forced to pose as couple to save her job.

Predictably Akash falls for Raina and by the time he decides to propose, Mr Khanna is back. Expectedly a love triangle is set with Akash trying to win Raina by outshining Samir and the one-upmanship reminds of Salman-Akshay's Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. Of course you know who wins the girl and the loser is given a consolation prize through the decade-old done-to-death starlet special appearance in the last scene.

The film desperately struggles between being a comedy and a sensitive emotional
drama but miserably fails on scoring in either genre. The character conflicts seem too insignificant which make you indifferent towards the resulting drama. The narrative lacks depth and ends up being a conventional love story. Prem R Soni tries too hard to add a shade of sensitivity in his direction but loses the grip as his writing is too fragile. The pacing is slow but thankfully the length is short.

Sudeep Chatterjee's cinematography fails to capture the beauty of Australia as the setting just doesn't move beyond the Melbourne airport. Sajid-Wajid's
music is easy on the ears. Of the redeeming moments is the one when Sohail invites Kareena for an impromptu jig on the yesteryear soft number Bade Achche Lagte Hai.

Of the cast, Salman Khan looks dull and disinterested and his biting-words dialogue-delivery disappoints even more. Kareena Kapoor is regular and should clearly avoid doing drunken scenes where she overacts outrageously. Sohail Khan attempts hard to infuse life in this dead-drama with his buffoonery but fails to impress.

Preity Zinta's item number evidently modeled on the lines of Kajra Re is certainly not happening. She looks too old to play a seductress.
Yash Tonk makes up for a cheaper version of Rajpal Yadav. And for god's sake, is Bappi Lahiri following Himesh Reshammiya to be a fulltime actor? Every time he speaks a frog croaks in the background score. Meanwhile what were Dino Morea, Nauheed Cyrusi and Mahek Chahel doing in the film?

You can conveniently say alvida to Main Aurr Mrs Khanna.

Salman Khan gifts Kareena Kapoor a bag worth Rs.250,000

Bollywood star Salman Khan went out of his way and gifted a branded bag worth Rs.250,000 to his Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna co-star Kareena Kapoor.

"Kareena would usually land up shopping in the evenings after the shoot in Australia. She would go alone. But on one occasion, Salman accompanied her too," said a unit source.
"She instantly liked a Dolce and Gabbana bag, stepped in and bought it. When she was about to pay the storekeeper refused to take the money saying it had already been paid for. Kareena stood zapped and wondered who could be that generous soul. It was only later that she got to know that it was Salman who had paid," the source added.

Salman's 'Wanted' hits theatres

MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Salman Khan's latest action movie "Wanted" didn't get favourable reviews from the critics but has done good business by earning about Rs.38 crore across the country in its first week.Surprisingly, it is the single screens where the movie has fared well compared to the multiplexes by generating 70 percent business."Till now, we had undermined the business contributed by the single screen theaters, but this film has made us realise that such theatres are still the bosses," said trade analyst Taran Adarsh.Said another trade analyst: "Single screen theaters have been historically known to cater to testosterone boosting movies - action dramas. 'Wanted' is exactly that kind of film. Then you have the price of the tickets, approximately less than half that of multiplexes, with the advantage of watching it on a 70mm screen. Quite naturally, audiences will choose single screens over multiplexes," he added.Exhibitor Manoj Desai of Gaiety Cinemas, a multiplex, believes that with "Wanted", single screens have finally shown their clout."'Wanted' has got the film industry and also the single screen cinemas out of the ICU. The film has got 100 percent collections till now and it is only going to get better," said Desai.Starring Salman in the lead, "Wanted" is a bone-cruncher about a guy who takes on a city filled with scum.

Salman's career best performance- WANTED

It’s time to bang the drums and blow the bugles. Salman Khan has risen again like a phoenix from the ashes. The star, whose career graph nosedived to an all time low with a spate of flops, is now basking in the success of his latest release Wanted which has set the cash registers ringing at ticket windows.

Producer Boney Kapoor is no less elated at the movie’s phenomenal run at theatres despite some competition from Yashraj Film’s well-marketed but bore of a film Dil Bole Hadippa.

To celebrate the film’s success, Salman and Boney are throwing a lavish party where their friends, families, and all the people who supported them will be invited.

Katrina Kaif, who flew in from Bhopal from a movie shoot to celebrate Eid with Salman, is also likely to extend her stay for this party.

Reports say even Farah Khan and Karan Johar have been invited. But no invitation has been sent to Shahrukh Khan, Vivek Oberoi and the Bachchans. Well, that’s understood.

The bash will most likely take place in Juhu. On menu will be both veg and non-veg delicacies. Salman is learnt to be taking personal interest in making sure that the most mouth-watering dishes are served at the party. Needless to say, there would be naach, gaana too.

After all, Salman is back into the reckoning.

Deepika Targets Salman Khan

Deepika is keen to team up with Salman Khan despite sharing bad vibes with his girlfriend

Mumbai: Deepika Padukone might have kick-started her Bollywood career with Shah Rukh Khan and since then is known to be part of his inner circle, but she claims she is more than open to branch out and work with King Khan's arch enemy Salman Khan.

"I'm so new in the industry and I have been very lucky to have got the opportunity to work with the biggest names in the industry. I have worked with SRK, Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan and now I would like to work with Salman," says Deepika, who is currently basking in the success of Love Aaj Kal.

She adds, "I feel Salman is a very honest person. He is genuine about what he feels and what I have read and known about him, he seems to be very caring."

Deepika admires AamirKhan too. "He has been extremely selective and it has worked so amazingly for him. I don't know whether he does it purposely or things turn out to be like that but he is a perfectionist."

Deepika might be game to talk about Sallu but she is not cool when it comes to talking about his girlfriend Katrina Kaif with whom she's been apparently sharing bad vibes. It's been reported that Deepika didn't approve of beau Ranbir Kapoor and Kat's growing bond on the sets of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and that she is responsible for the duo being no longer on talking terms.

"I wouldn't want to comment on Katrina," was her short and snappy reply when quizzed. But was her relationship shaky when rumours about Kat were on the rise? "Ranbir and I trust each other and we are going well. I realise that when there is no movie releasing people focus on other things and that people will even talk about personal things. All this used to affect me a lot before, it doesn't anymore."

Post their box-office bomb Chandni Chowk to China, ironically Deepika is now teaming up with Akshay Kumar for a comedy called Housefull. "I love the passion and drive that Akshay has. With him around, you get to learn a lot on the sets. I know our first film together didn't work out but there's nothing called an unlucky jodi," she says.
