Hrithik admitted to Ambani's hospital

Hrithik Roshan's accident on the sets of Kites made news but the bigger news is how the actor skipped going to the 'celebrity' hospital in Bandra to avoid registering a police complaint. The actor has cuts on his wrist normally associated with attempted suicide cases. The Roshans wanted to avoid unnecessary paperwork. So papa Roshan called Tina Ambani, and requested her to admit his son to the family-owned and recently-opened Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital at Four Bungalows, Andheri. Ambani made the necessary arrangements for Hrithik's medical care at the hospital.

A source close to Hrithik's family says, "Duggu (Hrithik's pet name) was the first patient at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. He hurt himself on the sets of Anurag Basu's Kites at Filmistan Studios on Wednesday night.

He was shooting for an action scene in which he had to smash a windowpane with a rod and enter the room. The shot didn't work well two times; the third time Hrithik hit the glass so hard that glass shards flew everywhere. One sliced through his wrist and blood gushed everywhere. The cut was so deep that Hrithik could see his bone."

Though Papa Roshan wasn't present on the sets executive producer and Hrithik's sister Sunaina was. She took charge. "Initially, Sunaina didn't realise how serious Hrithik's wound was but when he cried out to her asking for help and to stop the blood gushing out, she realised he needed to be taken to a hospital for stitches."

The source adds that Sunaina decided to take him to Lilavati Hospital in Bandra but they were advised that it might become a police case. She spoke to her dad, who in turn called Tina Ambani in Delhi who made the necessary arrangements for Hrithik's admission." Roshan Sr confirms, "The deep cut required 12 stitches. He won't be shooting for the next three days till the doctor sees his wound."

Roshan Sr also adds, "We took Hrithik to the Ambani Hospital as it was close to Filmistan Studios in Goregaon. I wanted him to reach the hospital as soon as possible. I spoke to Tina. She spoke to the doctors and made all the required arrangements. Fortunately they had opened the hospital just a day before and Hrithik was their first patient. It's a fantastic hospital like a 7-star hotel very well thought out with 700 beds. The doctors are very efficient."

With regard to the police case he says, "The police came for a routine enquiry and I showed them Hrithik's report it was an accident on the sets. They were fine with that

wars again between SRK, Salman

As is norm nowadays, the Khans are out to one up each other again. Just as Shah Rukh announced two new shows on television, Salman announced that he is all set for his second stint with TV as well.

Branching off from movie production, Shah Rukh has been doing fairly well for himself and his production house Red Chillies Entertainment. He recently produced the show First Ladies on NDTV Good Times and is now about to launch Knights and Angels and Ghar Ki Baat Hai on NDTV Imagine.TKnights and Angels is a reality show that will have King Khan as a judge who is looking for cheerleaders to bring up the spirits of his IPL team the Kolkata Knighter Riders. Ghar Ki Baat Hai on the other hand is a traditional sit-com, a story of the everyday lives of the Yagnik family and their neighbours.

Just as SRK was getting comfortable with his new monopoly of sorts, Salman says his fans won't have to wait long to see him back on the small screen for the second season of the immensely popular Dus Ka Dum.

Few dedicated fans might recall that the infamous spat between these two ruling Khans of Bollywood was actually because of a rising clash of interest thanks to their role on TV shows. Salman Khan, in a somewhat drunken state invited SRK on his show. SRK refused. This stung Salman a great deal as he had appeared on Kaun Banega Crorepati along with girlfriend Katrina when SRK was the host.

As SRK was hosting the not-so-popular Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain at the moment, Salman hit out at the failure of the show and threw the success of his own at Shah Rukh's face.

Some say it seemed fisticuffs were imminent, but were avoided thanks to the women - Katrina and Gauri who intervened and pulled back their significant others.

It seems life has come full circle and history is about to repeat itself. Will the two see this as an opportunity to mend their relationship or will it further deepen the hurt?

More importantly, since war has already been declared, who will emerge the victor?

Asin keeps distance with Salman

Currently busy shooting LONDON DREAMS Asin denies the report of being overtly friendly with co-actor Salman Khan.

And yeah, contrary to reports, no exchange of gifts happened on the sets! There was buzz that Salman Khan gifted a glamorous glass doll as a belated Onam gift to Asin. We recently bumped into Asin and asked her about her 'good friendship' with Sallu. She simply laughed and said, ''I don't know how to react to it because it's absolutely false. I have not got any gifts from Salman. In fact I read that he gave me a gift on Onam and I gave him a return gift on Eid...

We are shooting 24 x 7; there's no time to buy or exchange gifts. In fact when that news came out the whole unit was laughing...''

Now that was one helluva rumour gift wrapped!

Aamir Khan's Workout Schedule & Diet Plan for hot Ghajini look

The buzz everywhere is about the Aamir Khan’s 6 pack abs and fighter like physique he has built for his forthcoming movie ‘Ghajini’. I read in an article how he worked hard in order look like this. I have mentioned some of the excerpts in this post.

It took Aamir Khan almost a year from March 15, 2007 to April 21, 2008 with three hours of workout every day to build that lean yet muscular physique.Mondays - chest and back, Tuesdays - arms, and Wednesdays - shoulders and legs was his workout schedule. Apart from this he was also doing half-hour to an hour cardio and abs everyday. As for abs I read he used to do 1,000 crunches everyday. Aamir Khan always managed to get eight hours of sleep. No matter what time he went to sleep, he did get eight hours of sleep every day which I think is really important because proper sleep gives enough rest to the muscles and helps in muscle growth and you will not get tired easily while workouts.

Aamir Khan credits his physique to diet as well. He had a balanced diet that included one-third fat, one-third carbs, one-third protein, and normal food like rotis, rice, sabzis, chicken and all cooked in 3 spoons of oil. Apart from this he used to have 16 egg whites, fruits, and four lts. of water every day. There was no sugar, no potatoes, no bananas, no red meat, no egg yolks and no fried stuff.

So building good physique revolves around Exercise, Sleep and Diet. All these 3 are inter-related. If you don’t sleep well you will not have enough strength for exercise and if you eat junk food without having healthy diet you develop fat in your body. So the right combination of all the 3 is important.

Aamir Khan’s diet:

* Daily intake is broken down into six small meals every two hours
* A small carb meal (banana, apple) before exercises that helps build energy. Avoid dairy products but can have buttermilk.
* Food cooked only in 3 tbs of olive oil or saffola
* Plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits
* Rotis made of three-grain wheat (bajra, jowar and atta)
* Snacks include biscuits, brown bread sandwiches, papaya (through the day)
* No carbs after 8 pm, but soups or juices are allowed
* One or two pieces of tandoori chicken for dinner or four egg whites. Can alternate that with vegetable soup, and bhurji with salads or omlette (of egg whites only)

Sushmita Sen to play Benazir Bhutto

Bhutto was assassinated Dec 27, 2007, in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.

"Yes, I am keen to play the role. The producers are waiting for a clearance from the Pakistan Peoples Party (Bhutto's party). Once we get the go-ahead, we will start the movie," Sushmita had earlier told reporters.

Sushmita is reportedly working hard to get into her character by reading extensively on the life of Bhutto and watching footages on her. She is simultaneously working on her Urdu diction as well.

Co-produced by Pakistani producers Zaid Aziz and Henna Rai of Karachi production firm Vox Vision and Leicester-based Sum Films respectively, the film will be bilingual - made both in English and Urdu.

Tentatively titled 'Benazir Bhutto: The Movie', it will be shot at various locations in Pakistan, the US, Britain and Dubai, where Bhutto spent years as a student and later as a political leader in exile.

Apparently, Mahesh Bhatt's Vishesh Films is also battling out to make a biopic on the leader.

'bald'! Shilpa Shetty

A major cosmetic company, alerted by the news that Shilpa Shetty was going to shave off her hair for a movie, put its foot down and made her change plans.

Any way, she went 'bald', induced by prosthetics, before the camera. Says Shilpa, "I'd have loved to shave off my hair. But my other commitments put an end to my plans. The bald prosthetics were done by an amazing makeup artiste named Vidyadhar. It took him three hours to make me look bald. And after I finished shooting it took an hour to take off the bald makeup."
Shilpa insisted on doing all the bald scenes in one day. "Getting into the bald make up again would've been impossible. But what we've shot is amazing. Being hairless makes you look so vulnerable and childlike. I felt I had gone back to my childhood," Shilpa said from Kollam where the film 'Desire' is being shot.

Shilpa regrets not going the whole hog. "Seeing myself in bald prosthetics liberated me. I wish I could've actually shaved of my hair. When Aamir Khan tonsures his head and it becomes a fashion statement. But we girls have to go by the market definitions of glamour."

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif married?

New Delhi: Actress Katrina Kaif has demanded a formal apology from the Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamna for saying that she was married to Salman Khan.

This after Saamna carried a special article written by Salman's father Salim Khan saying that his 44-year-old son has already tied the knot with his long time girlfriend Katrina.
Katrina has denied the report and Salim Khan now says he has been misquoted.

"Salim sahab has already said that he has been misquoted or perhaps the reporter who was taking the interview misunderstood. Let's give the reporter a benefit of doubt that it was a mistake," she told CNN-IBN.

"I definitely thinks that Saamna should issue a clarification if not an apology because it's not a small thing. It's not the news of a movie or some endorsement that one has signed. It's a big think to make a mistake about somebody's life like this. And I think a clarification is a must because I know for a fact that Salim sahab has definitely not said anything and one should be careful while reporting for such a major newspaper and while writing articles," she added.

She said that her managers have spoken to the editors at Saamna and that they were assured of a corrigendum.

"People who read Saamna are regulars so when they open the paper tomorrow, there should be a clarification in the paper. They should say that they were misinformed or the misprinted and that's it. I think the matter should be ended then and there," she stated.

Slumdog Millionaire Success at British box office

London: Slumdog Millionaire's golden run continues. The film is all set for the Oscars next month with 10 nominations to its credit, three of which belong to A R Rahman.

The film has already bagged four Golden Globes and 11 Bafta nominations. Commercially too, it has already grossed over $40 million in the US, where it released in November and is setting new records in the UK.
In less than a fortnight since its British release, film has grossed over £7 million, making it the film with the most successful second weekend ever recorded at the British Box Office. And with 10 Oscar nominations, that dream run is likely to continue.

“Firstly, the timing is right. It is post 26/11, it is also the time of credit crunch so people just want to use the cliché of the feel good factor of the feel good film so the timing. But I also feel that it doesn’t underestimate the audiences’ intelligence so it is gritty, realistic,” says Times London film critic, Anil Sinanan.

The bookies have put Slumdog Millionaire well ahead of other contenders like Brad Pitt starrer The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Sean Penn starrer Milk, Frost/Nixon and Kate Winslet-Leonardo di Caprio starrer The Revolutionary Road.

Betting predictions aside, Indians will be praying for A R Rahman for the Oscars.

Sanjay Dutt's new looks

newSanjay Dutt seems to take his roles to heart.

On the sets of Rahul Dholakia's Lamha, Dutt put on an old, worn out face, complete with a salt and pepper beard.

But as he moved on to his next project a month later -- Soham Shah's Luck -- Dutt put on a fresh and younger face.

Designed by hairstylist Aalim, Dutt shows off a cool haircut now (on the left).

The Luck team will leave for a 10-day shoot to Cape Town, South Africa [Images], and then to Bangkok. Soham had earlier directed Karan Johar's [Images] production, Kaal, in 2005.

Interview with Maanyata Dutt

People continue to question your right to take over Sanjay's life?
I know. But what I want to say, I've the right to live with my husband the way I want to. It doesn't matter whether it's a prostitute or a princess, a wife has certain rights in her husband's home. I'm not a man living in a woman's house.

Sanjay has said girls shouldn't stick to their husband's name after marriage?
That's is his personal opinion. Sanju would've been offended and insulted if I had continued using my father's name. If other wives want to use their maiden names it's their choice. He feels it a fashion to do so these days. He has the right to an opinion.

What's your take on this?
Having a married a man who takes care of all my needs, I'd like to accept his name with full honour and take charge of his home and accept his family as my family. If you can't accept your husband's name and family then why marry? Go in for a live-in relationship.

Mrs Indira Gandhi was married to someone not as famous as the Nehrus. But she didn't fight all those glorious battles as 'Indira Nehru. '. And now Priyanka calls herself a Wadhera after her husband, not a Gandhi.

Over a year since your marriage and Sanjay's sisters haven't accepted you?
I'm not someone to push for acceptance. I have never nagged Sanju for anything. I leave space for options.

Sanju knows I've tried to do as much in my capacity (to find acceptance with the sisters). Beyond that he wouldn't like me to push myself to try any further. Neither would I.

But does it hurt?
There're very few people I trust. My friends go back to 20-22 years. They can hurt me, not others. When Sanju stands by me like a pillar of strength nothing else matters. Sanju said to you that if his mom was alive she'd have approved of me. What more can I want?

You've been attacked from the time you married Sanjay Dutt?
I'll tell you something, wherever there's power there's bound to be a lot of conspiracy hovering around that source of power. And let's fact it, Sanju is very powerful. Every producer wants to work with him. Sanjay never understood the nitty-gritty of finances.

And if he hasn't accumulated a huge bank balance, it isn't because he hasn't earned money. He did. But he lost all of it. There were too many people around him trying to use him. I came like a barricade in Sanju's life to stand between him and those who want to use him. Naturally these fair-weather friends resent me. I spoilt their party, you see.

But to be looked on with so much hostility and suspicion by Sanjay's friends cant be easy for you.

No one in the world can get a hundred percent votes. Even Prophet Mohamed, Jesus Christ, Gandhiji were not spared. I am such a small fry. No matter how sincere you are in your purpose, there will be people who will try to pull you down. It's the way our world functions.

You refuse to speak against Sanjay's family although they speak against you?
I am a woman. And I am Sanju's wife. It does hurt me. But I keep a dignified silence because firstly my parents have brought me up to believe it's undignified to hit out at people publicly. Secondly, it's my husband's family and he loves them.

So for his sake I wouldn't like to hurt him by saying anything. Finally I think keeping quiet under attack is far more courageous than attacking someone.

But how much will you take?
At no point of time, no matter what the provocation would I want to wash my dirty linen in public. I'm not that kind of person.

People think I'm arrogant and rude. The fact is, I'm very reserved by nature. I only open up with people I jell with. I speak straight from my heart. If I'm uncomfortable in company I won't wear a fake choga and pretend to be having a good time.

But silence beyond a point is misconstrued for guilt?
Let people draw what conclusion they want. I know what I'm doing in Sanju's life. I 'm a silent observer. I know exactly whom I want in life. I'll stand by them even when they are disowned by the world. As for the ones I don't want in my life I don't even want to cross their path.

You've put your own life aside to look after Sanjay?
I don't think any job is as hard as to look after your husband's home. Any other job ends at 6 pm. At home when it's time to call it a day, your husband walks in. And the day begins again. It's a 24-hour challenge. And I love challenges.

Sanjay had so many girlfriends. But he found a home-maker in you?
But it's not as if I only look after his home. I'm also look after Sanjay Dutt Productions. We decided he'd produce his own films to make sure the downslide doesn't take him by surprise. Let face it. Sanju is a superstar. But he isn't Amitabh Bachchan. Even Amitji went through a downslide.

Every actor goes through it. And then he reappears in smaller roles. I don't want that to happen to Sanju. As it is, he hasn't secured his bank balance. We jointly decided to start our production house, so we could generate the kind of work that Sanju deserves. I look after the finances of the production house, Sanju looks after the creative aspects.

He has 30 years of experience. The production plans give me a big high.

How have you controlled his finances?
I wouldn't like to name them. But some people for whom Sanju was taking on unnecessary expenses have been stopped.

Sanju was implementing financial responsibilities that were not his. That has also made some people hate me. But his finances were being handled by the wrong people. There was so much ghapla in his accounts. If I open my mouth about it no one will be spared.

Has Sanjay brought stability to your life?
Oh yes. I've never been happier. I've got the best man any woman could get. Sanju has stood by me through thick and thin. I've known him for 9 years. We started seeing each other seriously in 2005. But he knew my past. So when 'friends' tried to provoke him he just laughed it off.

He knew everything about me. When I was going through hell before my marriage I'd pick up the phone and asked him for help. We're both very positive people and we like to live and let alone. We both believe in forgiving. And we believe every saint can have a past. And every sinner can have a future.

And it appears that Sallu too has now seen the importance of marketing and keeping a good rapport with the press, specially after the stupendous success of his new found friend Aamir Khan's not so superior product, GHAJINI, the runaway success of which is being attributed to a large extent to the innovative publicity blitzkrieg by Aamir himself. Sanjay Dutt contest for Lok Sabha elections for the Samajwadi party from Lucknow

But if the actor is to contest elections, what will happen to his current lot of film commitments. Currently the actor has Luck, Blue, Chatur Singh Two Star, Lamhaa and Rohit Shetty’s untitled film with Ajay Devgan in his kitty.

“Earlier all the producers were slightly tensed when the news of him contesting elections broke out. But Sanju can't postpone any shooting schedule as all theses films are very important and have to release this year only. And so we are planning out the dates faccordingly. Soham Shah’s Luck is almost complete while Anthony De’souza’s Blue is 90% complete. And currently he is concentrating on Rahul Dholakia’s Lamhaa in Srinagar," says Dutt's manager Dharam Uberoi.

"Even the Samajwadi leaders are also supporting us and they are also planning out the dates based on the movie dates and are accordingly planning out dates for campaigning in Lucknow," he adds.

Apart from Sanjay Dutt, Bhojpuri actor Manoj Tiwari will contest election from Gorakhpur and there are speculations that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will also be seen promoting the Samajwadi party.

Aamir Khan wants to do Mahabharata and play Lord Krishna

Jiah Khan, Aamir Khan and AsinAfter scoring big on Ghajini, Aamir Khan [Images] is now focusing his attention on his next venture -- and the Indian epic, Mahabharata [Images], seems to have caught his eye.

"Mahabharata is a story that is very close to my heart," Aamir told the media during a party organised in Mumbai [Images] on Monday night to celebrate the success of Ghajini [Images]. "I want to do a film for sure, but not at this moment because you need to do full justice to that. When you are making a film on the Mahabharata, you cannot afford to make mistakes. One has to be very careful and at the moment, I don't have the guts to do Mahabharata."

Aamir had flown down from Bangalore, where he has been shooting for his latest film Three Idiots for Ghajini's success party. Ghajini has become one of the biggest hits of the year, making Rs 200 crore worldwide. Three Idiots is being directed by Rajkumar Hirani, who directed the Munnabhai [Images] series.

So which character in Mahabharata has fascinated him the most? "Karan," the actor answered. "I would love to do that role. Unfortunately, I cannot do it because of my height. I would love to do Arjun's character too. But again, I don't look like a warrior, so I cannot do that role. I am not six feet tall so these roles will not suit me. So the best role for me would be that of Lord Krishna's."

Known to be a perfectionist, Aamir has ventured into territories where his contemporaries haven't dared go. He took up unconventional films like Lagaan [Images] and Taare Zameen Par [Images], which met with success even though they did not follow the tried and tested formula of Hindi films.

When asked where he learnt to take such risks, Aamir replied, "I learnt it from Sunil Dutt, on the sets of Parampara. He had an amazing life and did some great work.

"I go by my instincts (while choosing films)," he continued. "I did Taare Zameen Par because I liked the film. I had no idea that the film would do big business."

akshaydenise.jpg

By Bollywood Hungama News Network

Akshay 'Khiladi' Kumar is well-known for 2 things- his ability to do death-defying stunts and his charming ways which could sweep any gorgeous woman off her feet.

The Superstar's last few films may have seen him more in action or comedy roles but there is a romantic side to Akshay too which can't be easily forgotten. Now in his forthcoming film Kambakht Ishq, Akshay would be seen romancing none other than the gorgeous Kareena Kapoor.

However, it's not Akki's chemistry with Bebo that's being discussed here. Apart from Kareena, Akki would be seen cozying up to yet another hottie and its none other than Hollywood star Denise Richards. We came across this startling picture of Akshay engaged in a passionate lip lock with Denise. Also, we can't help but wonder what wifey dearest Twinkle's first reaction would be on seeing this pic?

If this picture is any indication of things to come, expect a scorching hot summer when Kambakht Ishq opens across cinemas this May.

Stardom gets inside Asin's head ;started behaving like a superstar

Asin

The overwhelming success of Ghajini seems to have got inside Asin's head. Despite being just one film old in Bollywood Asin has already started behaving like a superstar. The actress is believed to have thrown a bit of starry tantrums on the sets of Vipul Shah's London Dreams where she stars opposite Salman Khan.

Her chin up attitude was something senior make up artist Manzoor Khan could not stand and walked out of the sets. Producers however had to support Asin as the movie's shooting was half way and Manzoor was asked to leave the movie. Well hope Asin mends her attitude towards her work or else she might be another name in the list of 'one movie wonders'

Ghajini, No 8 Bollywood hit of all times

Ghajini, No 8 B'wood hit of all times

The last release of 2008 Ghajini has offered some solace to the recession-ridden industry. With a historic opening and a steady run, the film is now the eighth biggest hit of all times. What's more, the feat has been achieved in barely 12 days.

Ghajini has collected in seven days what Welcome made during its ENTIRE run at the box office. And in ten days, the film made as much money as Singh is Kinng.

The only films that are ahead of it in the list of Bollywood hits of all times are Gadar, HAHK, DDLJ, Dhoom 2, Krrish, OSO and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (with a marginal lead).

Box office collections

Distributors in the Mumbai circuit collected whopping Rs 13 crore for Ghajini and Rs 8 crore for Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.

In centres like Orissa where a business of Rs 5-6 lakhs makes any movie a super hit in the circuit, Ghajini managed to gross Rs 25 lakhs in the first week itself.

The total gross collections as of now for Ghajini stands at Rs 140 crore.

Most multiplex chains that registered between 90-100 per cent collections in the extended first weekend showed just a slight drop for the second weekend, having collections between 75-85 per cent.

Aamir's biggest overseas hit

Lagaan, Rang De Basanti or Fanaa never created such euphoria in the overseas market as Ghajini.

The film has managed gross a total of $ 6.5 million as of Sunday evening breaking records everywhere.

In North America it grossed $ 1.9 million, in the UK $ 0.7 million, and in the Middle East it made $ 1.5 million in the first week itself.

Trade talk

Veteran trade analyst, Amar Solanki says, "The kind of reputation Aamir has managed to generate, his fans are coming to watch it expecting a good product. But it is nowhere like his RDB, Lagaan or TZP. It is purely a commercial entertainer. So one can definitely term it as his goodwill hit. The critics have been slamming the film but it's still a super hit."

Amod Mehra says, "The film has brought smiles on a lot of faces in the trade and that's what is more important. Ghajini proves that even today a perfectly made commercial film has many takers. The only glitch is its length. The makers can definitely alter some portions and make it a much better watch."

Manoj Desai of G-7, Mumbai tells us, "The response has been good since the first day but the reactions to the film have been mixed. A general feeling is that the film won't have a repeat audience."

Salman Khan as 'Autorickshaw' pilot !

Next time if you see Salman Khan driving an autorickshaw in the middle of the night, don't be surprised as the actor seems to be diversifying in the wake of ongoing recession.

According to reports, the hunk was seen driving an autorickshaw after having a late night dinner with current flame Katrina Kaif. As soon as the duo finished their dinner at Olive restaurant, Salman got into the mood of driving a three wheeler instead of his plush four wheel drive and asked the driver to follow him along with Kat in his car.

It seems this was not the first time Salman was riding a three-wheeler as observers say he showed a good control over the vehicle.

Was just wondering, what is next on Sallu's list of must drives -- truck or a tractor? Will wait and watch..

Priyanka Chopra is finally happy with her career after 'Fashion' hit the jackpot.

After the success of 'Fashion' she rocked in Dharma Production's flick 'Dostana' starring Abhishek and John.

She has reportedly said, "Man proposes, God disposes. I'm still not mentally prepared for it. But yes, I will, of course, marry someone in the next two years. I have time on my hands as I'm still quite young. I don't have anyone to name. My career is topping my priority list. Thankfully, I'm getting good work and I want to do some good work. Still from 3 Idiots

Rajkumar Hirani's 3 Idiots starring Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Sharman Joshi, Madhavan and Boman Irani has gone on floors. The film is a feel good family entertainer. It has the same warmth, simplicity and fun associated with Raju Hirani's films.

Hirani doesn't want to give away the look of his protagonists right now, which is why the teaser doesn't have any of the actors in it.

The shoot of the film with the supporting characters has already begun. Hirani and his team will be leaving in late August for the shoot with the principal cast. The film is scheduled to be shot in Ladakh, Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai as well. Aamir and rest of the cast will begin shooting in early September. Hirani plans to wrap 3 Idiots by Vidhu Vinod Chopra is producing the film. Abhijat Joshi and Raju Hirani have written the screenplay and the lyrics are by Swanand Kirkire. Akshay's Chinese looks

There is a strong reason behind why Akshay Kumar gave a Thumbs Up to Chandni Chowk To China. Though technically, he was on board already doing the film, the thing that clinched the deal was a specially designed poster of the film.

Rohan Sippy, 'Shridhar (Raghavan) confirmed that the writer and he had only Akshay in their minds for the part. They wanted him so badly that they actually created a poster with him in it to give him a feel for the film. The poster made an impact on Akshay and to such an extent that he wanted to sign on right away. In fact it happens to be the same concept that is being used in the teaser posters of the movie.

Moreover, the story of the clumsy Sidhu, whose journey to China gives him a chance to believe in himself, build his identity and save a village resonated somewhere with Akshay, that made him even more keen.

“I don't think we could have envisioned any other actor in the role of Sidhu. Akshay has breathed life into this role. People will feel sympathy when he is a fumbling Sidhu and will cheer when he beats up the bad guys. There are very few actors who can convince the audience to accept them as a simpleton and as a Kung Fu expert within the same movie”, says Rohan.

The Chinese look for the superstar was created by Jaimal Odedra who has been a part of the London fashion industry for 17 years, and is working for Bollywood for the first time. He clearly had a lot on his plate when he was signed on to design the looks of Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone in their film together, Chandni Chowk to China.
Nikhil Advani says that beyond being an exceptionally versatile and professional actor, Akshay Kumar is one of the very few actors in Bollywood who has the physique and agility to have carried off the tough demands of the role. He added that he was a daredevil and loved performing stunts and revelled in them when they were risky.
